Stencil Festival is calling upon artists to submit one artwork into the MSF 2008 poster competition.
Short-listed works will be exhibited from 30 May - 8 June at the Famous When Dead gallery space in Melbourne and online on this website.
All entries will be judged for short-listing by festival staff. A jury panel will choose the winner from the short-listed artworks in the exhibition. The winning design will be announced on Sunday, 8 June and used for the 2008 Stencil Festival promotion on posters, flyers and the web. The winning artist will receive a $500.00 cash prize. Additionally the general public will be invited to vote for the most popular artwork at the exhibition and on the festival website.
Both winning artists will be invited to exhibit at the 2008 Stencil Festival. Stencil Festival is Australia's premier street and stencil art event and touring exhibition. Now in its fifth year, the 2008 festival will be held in August at the Yarra Sculpture Gallery warehouse.
PosteSF is an ideal showcase upon which sponsors and general public can join the Stencil Festival team for a casual discussion on this art-form over a drink and nibbles, and of course view the current works by emerging and leading artists in the genre of street and stencil art nationally and internationally.
PosteSF Submission details
The MSF 2008 POSTER will be A2 portrait in size with the winning artist's piece being the focus point along with exhibition & venue details.
All submissions must be images of new or recent works and original works. Submissions of stencil art, freehand graff, illustration, photography or mixed media are welcome. Theme: Topical Current Events. Please submit: one image of a new or recent work which fits the theme. Only send JPEG files, 300dpi, maximum file size 1megabyte.
