For the most part things are pretty much the same as the other shows with a few notable exceptions:
- This year the will be one show at The Goodfoot instead of two like last year.
- There is more space this year so each artist can submit up to five (5) pieces.
- Almost all media is accepted with the exception of collage and sculpture. This is for all the people doing great work that would be perfect for vinyl but do not stencil. Markers, stickers, crayon, etc. are all good. Just make sure it is completely dry before shipping.
- Show sales are at 30% commission. Paid 30 days after the closing
- Web sales have been increased to 40% commission due to the amount of work involved in getting them on the site, and packing and shipping expenses. Paid quarterly.
If you are new to VK take a look around the VK site or do a search for “Vinyl†in the member gallery of stencilrevolution.com. They can give you an idea of the type of work that has been submitted in the past.
I really want to keep Vinyl Killers an open call show because of the cool surprises every year. In that spirit, each of you can help to keep it fresh by challenging yourself to send in your very best work. Lets all push the clever and/or technical factor and move beyond the novelty of the work being on records, By pushing ourselves we will ensure that the shows continue to be exciting and the fans of VK remain interested.
