A Novel Idea: Stencil artists tell a love story on sidewalks. Read it while you can.

A few corrections, just regarding the bits about me:
• I took my first stencil photo in 1995, and then dozens more when I moved to San Francisco in 1997.
• My current research for the book shows that street stencils really began around 1976, when John Fekner hit NYC for the first time. Punk bands were also hitting up the streets in the mid-70s. I told the journalist that stencil art fits certain situationist beliefs regarding breaking up your daily urban routine. Why commute the same way to work when there might be a new stencil a block over?

  • Feel free to submit art and information for any of the categories that relate to you, but make sure that you read each category's details before doing so.
  • all submitted images must be 300dpi (high resolution) to be printed in a book. If you do not submit hi res photos, your photos will not be used. (Contact me if you wish to mail content to be scanned.)
