"Towards the Light" - a solo show featuring Indigo

August 29 · 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Verve Hair Lounge
227 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver (3 blocks from Seabus terminal)

You found your wings, lift slow through charcoal skies. Weighted, I remain.

Seven years later, I move forward, choose light. Paint pictures not of you but for you - and even now I cannot find the words to write. Still just a heartbeat, still just a breath away, goodbye seems too strong a word for an absence only as complete as I choose to believe. Seven years later, I know that you would want to see me smile.

Verve Hair Lounge...and Art Gallery is very excited to be showcasing the talent of urban artist Indigo in her first solo show, Towards the Light. This talented young artist has seen much acclaim in the past year, having showcased her talent internationally in cities such as Toronto…

Goodfoot
Thurs Aug 26th from 4-12pm
show will be up until Sept 27th
Artists: Klutch & Heidi Elise Wirz

The Goodfoot will have an art opening on Last Thursday, Aug 26th from 4-12pm. The show will be up until Sept 27th. The artists this month are Klutch and Heidi Elise Wirz.

Relationships and the importance of them comprises the narrative accompanying each piece. The line is often blurred between personal relationships and Wirz's relation to the world around her.  An often harder edged text statement completes each piece, displaying Wirz's love for typography.

This exhibition is a tribute to the memory of Makh Daniels. A true inspiration, creator, friend, and brilliant source of encouragement was taken from this world far too early. He was the front man for many bands in the Bay Area, and was on tour with his band Early Graves in August. The band was in a tragic accident and Makh was taken from us. 10% of the sales from this show are…

Swan Song Gallery presents The First Day featuring recent work by Amy Rice

July 25 · 12:00pm - 9:00pm

Maiden Rock, WI

The ad said “free puppies” and listed a rural address on the Bad River Indian Reservation in the most Northern East corner of Wisconsin. That is where I found Ella—it was 15 years ago this summer and she and I have been a pack ever since. Ella has seen both coasts of the United ...States, swam in both oceans. She has canoed down the Brule River and sailed in Lake Superior. She has lots of friends. She has been the subject of much art. She was on CNN. Lately a lot of my art has been about celebrating our life together and taking inspiration from this beautiful and bittersweet final stage we passing through together. -Amy Rice
