PIXNIT Productions is pleased to announce the group show In Pursuit of Beauty open now until January 24th, 2009 at Montserrat Gallery in Beverly, MA.

Leonie Bradbury, Curator of the exhibition wrote the following about the exhibition:

In Pursuit of Beauty brings together five artists who examine both the politics and poetics of the beautiful. They are: Julie Chang (San Francisco, CA), Timothy Horn (Melbourne, Australia), PIXNIT (Boston, MA), Tomás Rivas (Santiago, Chile), and Elizabeth Wallace (Boston, MA). This exhibition is inspired by the resurgence of visually sensual work. Unapologetically decorative, ornate, and concerned with elaborate surface detail, each artist explores beauty in their own way.

Chris Stain's DirtyPilot Digi-Exhibit

Chris is a stencil graffiti artist that grew up in Baltimore in the 80's. Through books and movies he was introduced to NYC subway graffiti movement which sparked his interest in art, making it a viable means of self expression. In high school Chris learned screen printing methods which would later aid him in the process of stenciling. He has always been sensitive to his surroundings and the struggles of common working people. With this work he hopes, at best, to inspire compassion in people who hold positions of power to effect change in the lives of the less fortunate. We are thrilled to present this important new work by Chris Stain

30/10: Vinyl Killers 6 in Portland, OR

Vinyl Killers 6 opens on October 30th in Portland, Oregon at The Goodfoot. The Goodfoot is located at 2845 SE Stark St. and is open daily from 5 PM to 2:30 AM. There will also be vinyl only selections from dj's monkeytek, ryan organ and carrier during the opening

The often imitated, never duplicated, OG vinyl art show, Vinyl Killers returns this October for another round of rescuing long forgotten records from the world’s landfills. This year there have been at least 5 other vinyl shows in North America alone and interest in the artform is at an all time high. After five annual shows and several touring exhibits Vinyl Killers remains committed to staying open call, independent, D-I-Y, and free of corporate sponsorship.

Since it’s inception in 2003 Vinyl Killers has showcased well over 1000 records painted by artists from around the world. A quick glance at the VK website shows both the genres…
