Vinyl Killers 5: Show Opening Oct. 25, Portland

One of the original themed street art shows, Vinyl Killers returns this October for another round of rescuing long forgotten records from the world's landfills. After five annual shows and several touring exhibits Vinyl Killers is still independent, still D-I-Y, and still free of corporate sponsorship.

Since it's inception in 2003 Vinyl Killers has shown over 1000 records painted by artists from around the world. A quick glance at their new website showcases both the shows global influence and the absolutely amazing things that are being done with paint and old records. With last year's inclusion of all mediums, and not just stencils, new approaches and ideas help to keep things fresh.

Media recognition for this innovative show includes a feature in last year's The Art Of Rebellion 2, a prominent spot in the forthcoming Stencil Nation book, and features in numerous international street art magazines and blogs. Last year Klutch, the founder and curator of VK, had the room that he decorated with painted records for The Hotel Des Arts featured in Time magazine.
