Czarnobyl - Mutation

Opening: 30.04.2010, 19 Uhr
Exhibition: 30.04. - 29.05.2010

http://www.atmberlin.de/en/exhibitions/czarnobyl.php

Info:
Berlin, which is famous for things such as the Berlin wall, the biggest open-air gallery of the world and a huge electro underground scene, is much more than these things. It is also the playground of the urban artist Czarnobyl.

Influenced by film classics such as “Stalker” by Andrei Tarkovsky or other sinister cyberpunk such as William Gibson, Czarnobyl's works are like hallucinations of a dystopic future.

It seems like Czarnobyl’s works want to remind us of the technological progress and its’ unfulfilled promise of a better future. His creatures are completely torn, lonesome but…

Faces in the Mirror by Blek le Rat and Transitions by ABOVE:

This exhibition brings together the original pioneer stencil artist and his younger counterpart utilizing stencils to create public art in over 40 countries around the world.

This homage to stencil art marks Blek le Rat’s first show in San Francisco as well as the debut indoor exhibition of ABOVE. The meeting of these two artists is a passing of the torch from the original stencil artist to a younger generation of urban artists following in his legacy. Blek let Rat first pioneered stencils in the early 80s as a bold, attention grabbing form of street art that was never before seen. ABOVE is the prominent stencil artist of the new generation, drawing on Blek’s methods to project a social message into…

Sten & Lex are known for their unusual and so tedious practice of stencil art which provides an offset look. Their approach of the street in a monumental way and the iconic poetry of their subjects built their current reputation.

This exhibition marks a step toward the affirmation of their career, with a new concept : the «Stencil Poster». They are now completely challenging the repeatable nature of stencil art ; each stencil is unique. Each stencil is used only once, the stencil itself is destroyed and is incorporated into the…

APRIL 9th - May 5th
Old Crow Tattoo and Gallery Presents "Stand Tall"
A conceptual exhibition featuring 20 of the North America's most innovative talents

Old Crow Tattoo and Gallery with curatorial support from Barrett Moore, has given simple but rigid parameters to the participating artists for this exhibition. Our hopes are to create,an all inclusive visually dynamic result. Spanning the country, and at the same time the stylistic confides of aerosol art; the plan was to keep the conceptual execution at the essence each decision. These artists span the country, and at the same time the stylistic confides of lowbrow art. Each selected for his or her individual efforts, this show will also find grace within the group's overall presentation. Standing Tall at 3ft x 9ft, each artist will be fully in control to install, hang and paint whatever they choose…
