PIXNIT Exhibition at the DeCordova
PIXNIT Productions is pleased to announce a new installation by the artist PIXNIT at the DeCordova Museum. "Folie que la nouveauté"(Follylike novelty), commissioned and designed for The Café @ DeCordova is on view now and is an ongoing exhibition.PIXNIT’s work on the streets significantly informs her indoor aesthetic. Her graffiti art is based on imagery from the history of decorative arts, applied with spray paint through hand-cut stencils. By inserting visual quotations from 17th- through 19th-century architectural ornament, ironwork, and wallpaper into the contemporary urban fabric, PIXNIT created an anonymous public art that commented on urban design, decorative fashion, the uses and misuses of social space, and issues surrounding renewal and beautification.
For the DeCordova, PIXNIT’s technique and sources remain the same, but are complicated and enriched by several factors. Foremost is her prominent reproduction of a 1797 etching by Alexis Chataigner, which… Read more
Visitor's Fore Sight Stencil Project
Hey Stencil Archive Community,
In july I started cranking out an edition of a picture dictionary/poetry/stencil folio project that I wrote/illustrated. I'm making all of the books myself in my studio. Each one comes pre-cut and bound with snap-rings. There's more info on my site. Just wanted to hip you to it.
Be well. Good luck with the new book.

Update from Peat
StenSOUL.com the art of Peat Wollaeger - News Update!I just got back from Miami and was a part of a large scale mural project Primary Flight which happened during this Year Art Basel in the Wynwood Arts District.
For my wall I did a Tribute to Keith Haring for three reasons...
1) He was the first artist to truly influence me.
2) December is AIDS awareness month (Keith died of AIDS in 1990).
3) Keith would have turn 50 this year.
Tiago's Portland Bike Piece (Photos)
This is a link for some pictures of me painting a wall for bikeportland.org office. The photographer, Jonathan Maus, will post more pictures next week, whenever he brings his wide-angle lens so he can fit the whole image in one picture.
This is the biggest image I've ever done, and it's all stencil.

2. take a look at things that are happening currently and coming up in the future at the Mountain Label blog!
This is the news site which will keep you up to date on what's going on over here. Both site will be updated regularly, the site with finished
projects and the blog with everything else, group show news, new projects as they are happening etc.
3. the Mountain Label design studio is now my full time job! Yes, some may know and some may not, but after an almost 7 year stint designing and
creating for one company, I'm off on my own, (well and with my office manager and our intern) to work, well as freeeeeeelance, for anyone including you!
There is so much more going on, but I think that's the big 3, and the rest will make it's way on the site and the blog...
Thanks, and check out the sites!

Peat, a Stencilbilly, and a Corporation (Video)
Guilt-ridden plug for a soft drink I don't endorse, but man is Peat Wollager's video funny as hell or what? I grew up with real hillbilly's so this is a gut-buster, I tell you what.....
You may of heard this Spring/Summer I collaborated with Mountain Dew on a Limited Edition Bottle.
Well...they also had me create a Stencil Video inspired by the design.
Peep out the new store...buyart.stensoul.com
Pixnit was here
Her urban-art spores adorn public and private property. But some see her as a menace.By Matthew Shaer, Globe Correspondent | January 3, 2007

CAMBRIDGE -- At 2 a.m. on a Monday in November, this stretch of Massachusetts Avenue, from Plympton Street to Harvard Square, is lit up like a vintage pinball machine. So it's testament to Pixnit's experience that even in the neon glow cast by nearby storefronts she can vanish, almost completely, into the smallest of shadows. There's a practiced grace to every motion: the stencil fitted to the dark slice of pavement, the aerosol yanked from a black backpack, and then three passes with the blue paint. By the time a passerby kneels to examine the art -- a small, pastel flower Pixnit calls a "spore" -- Pixnit is halfway down the block, her hands, covered in black fingerless gloves, in her pockets.
